Improving immigrants’ interaction with public services in coherence with non-discrimination principles, guaranteeing Human Rights literacy* when designing, developing and supplying public services, and creating a quality standard (called #MediationGrammar) for services to guarantee easy access, use and interaction for migrants were all core objectives of the #easyRights.

The “Mediation Grammar” , a collection of minimum requirements developed to enforce the informational rights of non-EU immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees, is currently available as a document undergoing a formal public consultation procedure on the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) website for 30 days.  It identifies three empowerment gaps of mediation in public service delivery – language accessibility, information adequacy, and actualization of rights – each having three specifications, or requirements, the fulfillment of which can be considered as most responsible for the enforcement of the non-discrimination principle.

Different stakeholders and institutions actively supported the creation of the Mediation Grammar document through a series of meetings. The result is the so called CWA – CEN Workshop Agreement.

The easyRights partners, in collaboration with UNI Ente Italiano di Normazione and TUV Thuringen Italia S.r.l. invited the public to read the document and provide their thoughts and insights to improve it.
