Irene Bianchi visiting at Aalborg University of Copenhagen
Envisioning Translocality
Enabling Institutions
Enforcing Practices
During the autumn, Irene Bianchi carried out a 3-months visiting research period at Aalborg University Copenhagen (AAU KPH), hosted by the CREATE – Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology.
The research stay provided the opportunity to collaborate with the Service Design Lab on topics related to design-enabled experimentation for urban sustainability, while exploring new research perspectives on the role of creative approaches in supporting a just green transition.
The exchange built on and further developed research themes already addressed within the PALIMPSEST EU Project, fostering dialogue on methods, scales of intervention, and design approaches for sustainable urban transformation.
Beyond the research activities, the visit also offered the opportunity to engage with local initiatives and to explore Copenhagen’s urban context, where the quality of public space represents a key dimension of everyday life and urban sustainability.
Many thanks to Nicola Morelli, Amalia de Götzen, María Vitaller del Olmo, and the entire team at Aalborg University for their warm hospitality.
