CALL Lab is growing! Join us in celebrating Irene Bianchi’s promotion to Assistant Professor (fix-term – RTd.A) in Urban Planning at DAStU, Politecnico di Milano!

Irene previously carried out research activities at DAStU – CALL Lab; the University IUAV of Venice – Planning and Climate Change LAB; Berlin Technical University and King’s College London. She is a member of the Executive Board of the Urban Resilience Research Network URNET and part of the BIARI Alumni Network (Brown University).

In the years ahead, Irene will keep working on urban sustainability transition, with a focus on governance dynamics at the interface between niches of experimentation and policy-making processes. As part of the Horizon Europe and NEB Palimpsest project’s Coordination Team,  she will also explore the role of creative practices in the transformation of fragile landscapes, reflecting on experiments carried out at the art-science-community interface.

What does Irene bring to the table?

  • A focus on trade-offs arising from plans and policies promoting sustainability transition and urban resilience.
  • The will to explore future horizons contemplating issues of uncertainty, contestation, and ambiguity
  • A special attention to social learning and the hybridization of knowledge and perspectives

📸 But wait, there’s more! She is a passionate landscape photographer – She has shot some of the beautiful images describing our projects!

👏 Join us in congratulating Irene on her last achievement, and follow us as we embark on this thrilling journey with her!
