Where does change start in your neighbourhood?
“Space and Change for Sustainable Mobility” marks a new phase of the Space and Change participatory process, promoted by IFe civic Lab and Municipio 9 of Milan.
Building on the outcomes of the first phase, this new stage brings together residents, associations, community groups and other local actors through three meetings across the neighbourhoods of Municipio 9 in Milan. The information, experiences and contributions collected over the past year have been used to identify, for each neighbourhood, key spaces and issues related to mobility and public space.
The meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss which areas and issues should be prioritised, and where to start in order to support possible transformations in the neighbourhoods.
The process contributes to defining priorities for mobility and public space and, more broadly, to drafting guidelines on the content of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS), an instrument envisaged at the city level and proposed here at the Municipio level.
From setting priorities to online discussion
The three meetings combine a travelling Territorial Planning Commission (Commissione Territorio) with co-design workshops across different areas of Municipio 9.
Participants will first be invited to identify and rank the areas and issues they consider most relevant. The priorities that emerge will then be discussed on the BCAUSE platform, where the discussion will remain open to allow participants to continue contributing and sharing their views over time.
The meetings thus represent a first step in a co-design process that connects the outcomes of the first phase, local discussion and ongoing digital participation.
