PALIMPSEST talks during Milan Design Week 2025
ACQUA LAMBRO is an artistic work built around an “impossible idea”: transforming the Lambro River’s water, one of Europe’s most polluted rivers, into a prestigious mineral water. It merges speculative design and environmental activism into a situational and utopian work of art.
A provocative action to reconnect Milan with the Lambro, bringing to light the relationship of mutual care between the city and its river. At the same time, it is the result of a co-creation process led by British-Irish artists gethan&myles as part of the PALIMPSEST project, presented during Milan Design Week 2025.
PALIMPSEST works within the framework of the New European Bauhaus initiative and investigates the transformative capacity of creative-artistic initiatives in real-life contexts with a focus on transformations oriented towards environmental sustainability.
The series of talks proposed during this dissemination week is intended to contribute to the discussion on the synergies between artistic action and research through projects in which these two “worlds” have successfully met.
The last scheduled event on Friday 11 April is dedicated to the presentation of the IMMACCHINARIUM project.
