Trust us, this time, we are “really” excited to announce that Maryam has embarked on a new journey as an Assistant Professor (fixed-term) in Urban and Regional Planning at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano. Throughout her career, Maryam has been deeply passionate about learning and cities, and she has applied this passion to her educational path from Tehran to Amherst, Denver and Boulder, to Milan and London. She has continually sought opportunities for learning, experimentation, and observation.

In her new position, Maryam will actively participate in departmental activities and engage with academic and practical initiatives on a broader scale. Her research will primarily focus on urban and spatial planning, specifically exploring the impact of digitization and innovative services on urban transformation. Maryam will investigate whether cities and citizens require digitization, platformization, and servitization or if alternative, smarter approaches can achieve innovation, all while prioritizing #diversity, #equity, and #inclusivity. Her work is dedicated to empowering “all” citizens (with a special focus on migrants and vulnerable citizens) as key drivers of urban innovation, technology adoption, and their profound implications for urban policies and social structures.

Join us in congratulating Maryam on this exciting new chapter, and stay tuned for the incredible contributions she will bring to our growing CALL LAB! 🌆🌍📚 #UrbanPlanning #Innovation #AcademicJourney#Smartness
