On Saturday, June 6, 2026, as part of Via Dolce Via, some preliminary results of the participatory process “Space and Change,” developed in Milan’s Municipio 9, will be presented. The initiative will offer the opportunity to share with residents the key findings emerging from the process, with particular reference to the themes of public space, mobility, and urban transformations perceived as relevant by those who live and travel through the neighborhood. Through maps, research materials, contributions collected during various participatory activities, and in-depth project discussions, several lines of reflection on the future of Municipio 9, and in particular the Dergano and Bovisa neighborhoods, will be illustrated.

The initiative also represents an opportunity to integrate research and teaching. Students working on their degree theses and working in the first-year Urban Planning Laboratory (professors Anna Moro and Alessandro Frigerio) on the themes of public space and urban transformation will be involved.

Interactive activities, conducted using digital tools and paper-based media, will allow for the collection of contributions and observations from participants to support ongoing research and planning activities.

The event represents an opportunity for interim feedback and dialogue with residents, aimed at gathering further observations, comments, and perspectives useful for further work. The final results of the project will be presented in September 2026 together with Municipio 9 as part of the experimental proposal for a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS) at the local level.

The “Space and Change” project was implemented from January 2025 to January 2026 as part of the Horizon Europe ORBIS project on deliberative democracy, in collaboration with the Rob de Matt association, Municipio 9-Milan, and Politecnico di Milano.
