For over 10 years, CALL has been following the events of the #GrandeParcoForlanini, collaborating with an association of active citizens to support it. CALL contributes to the debate on the green infrastructure of the Milan urban system, also involving students in the discussion through workshops led by some of the researchers. The development of the Grande Parco Forlanini represents an exemplary case for CALL’s scientific interests. It is a park where CALL has experimented with innovative teaching methods, CPiP project, in which students have interacted with local communities and institutions, using the project as a means of mediating dialogue and as a tool for community learning.

For this reason, CALL will participate in the “Così vicino, così lontano” initiative organized by the Grande Parco Forlanini Association, which includes a neighborhood walk on May 25th at 5:00 PM on Viale Argonne. The Grande Parco Forlanini is close to becoming the most important “green” resource (around 400 hectares!) in the Milan metropolitan area, providing a safe green infrastructure for those who want to cycle from Idroscalo to the heart of Milan. It is important to expand the public debate, allow communities to speak, and enhance the numerous resources and opportunities available in this area, where soil protection can easily serve as an additional valuable urban function.
